About the event

Join local fungi enthusiast Marita Smith to learn about the fantastic world of fungi and the basics of mushroom identification. Learn about the diversity and ecology of fungi growing on the NSW south coast, from hardy polypores to delicious chanterelles. 

We will also create some mushroom art and guide you through a range of fun fungi activities! We'll have a variety of wild and cultivated fungi to provide inspiration and act as printing materials.

In this workshop kids will:

  • Get to see a range of mushrooms on the specimen table
  • Learning about mushrooms in their local environment
  • Gain an appreciation for nature!

We'll supply all materials and guide you through a range of fun fungi activities, including:

  • Printmaking/stamping with real mushrooms
  • Drawing/painting mushrooms, and,
  • Creating mushroom collages

Please note that children under 16 years must be accompanied by a supervising adult (supervising adult free).
